As an update, I've been moving some things to SD card. I'm pretty impressed that Angry Birds still runs fine from the card, as does Solitaire Free Pack. I've also been cleaning out unused apps, and apps, especially those that can't be moved to the card. There are sue a lot of junk that can't be moved or uninstalled, so I'll just have to live with that. Anyway I hope I've gotten rid of this low memory notification for a little while anyway.
