hello everyone after the latest update for Galaxy Grand the phone has become slow, many apps are crashing or just freezing anybody try update any advice??

i am trying to hard reset a sony xperia arc S for a friend but the problem is when i try the method i found online (to press and hold left and right buttons under screen and press power button) nothing happens it turns on same as before with the only difference it says safe mode on bottom left...

today this problem started happening and restating doesn't seem to help every time i open contacts its quickly goes back to home i need to click dial button than contacts to reach a contact very annoying even if i try to search it will go back out so not sure any advice i really like Android...
