I'm as new to these forums as I am to the Droid... but I hope you get this message in addition to the last one I sent. I figured out my dilemma on my own. It seems the first 2 addresses I input, are not in a metro area and street view is not available. As soon as I entered one that is in the city, the 'pegman' became highlighted and I was able to use that, and compass mode. Sorry for taking up your time....
