I used to be so dang smart! I graduated top of my Radioman Class in the navy in the two major elements: electronics and message handling/morse code achieving 4.0 final score in the six month course. I got some great assignments at Naval Communication Stations where I had fun maintaining some real cool equipment including over the horizon transmitters and receivers (think antennas that look like huge drive-inn theater screens. If you don't know about drive-in theaters ask gramps.)

I was employed by a major airline communications company and quickly became lead technician in the equipment maintenance shop overseeing 7 other technicians.

Yes, I was smart and accomplished a lot but I won't bother you with other items of my resume. In fact, I tore up my resume 58 years ago and retired.

I'm now 79 and dumb as they come. My technical expertise quickly became obsolete with advances in both personal and business communication. (does anyone today know what a 2-way radio is? I dabbled in maintaining them for awhile until cell phones proved more useful).

Today I rely on forums like this and my grandkids to steer me right when I get tangled up in these new fangled smartphones and iPads. I hate my smartphone, all of them past and present and love my iPad. It has something to do with the size of the keyboards and the size of my fingers. I have been considering putting one thru the pencil sharpener.

You all have a great day!
