    I manually updated my evo, without a root... obviously. to 2.2 Now, with that said. Can i root my phone now? i really want to customize it. 3.26.651.3 is my build number im a newb to rooting, all i know is before nothing worked. (on 2.1) i trued unrevoked, simpleroot... eveything.

    Root Simple root, not so simple?

    Okay, i plug phone in. I run the simple root, and click root. It puts my phone into the while skating android screen. It looks for updates, but doesnt prompt me to download one. and it doesnt ask me to reboot. It isnt rooting my phone. any help?

    Okay, i have the HTC Evo. I want to root this for customization. If i root it, can i still update to 2.2 tuesday, or do i hae to wait for a root for 2.2 comes out? Im new to this, and i also wanted to ask. Can rooting my phone brick it?
