Is there anyways to backup all the smses on my DHD to a pc? I want to delete them all but would like to save them first.. Bluetooth/wifi is preferred but any other method will also do Thanks

I keep reading threads to do an OTA update to 2.2.1 for DHD but if I do a manual check there is no update from my current 2.2 Is the update perhaps specific to a carrier or is the update request sent to HTC themselves? Is there a way to manually download/install 2.2.1 (via PC) Shot.
