I did a backup beofre installing the upgrade, but now there doesn't seem to be anyway to restore the backup, the phone is completely wiped. Help!

I have taken a video on my xperia but cannot transfer it to my pc, when I go to media go it says that this format is not supported, how can it be not supported when I recorded it on the phone? The video doesn't show in media go in "videos" only in "other!" i have tried the "re-scan, as advised...
