If I use Google to restore my apps instead of TB, do I let it restore the app settings and data or just the apps?

If I want to factory reset and wipe my intenal sd card and start over after experimenting with 4.2, can I follow up with using fastboot to install the recovery image and then use adb to push a rom. will this make my phone clean so I don't have all of this sd0/0/0 garbage?

I've heard it's better to flash a kernel over the ROM with the stock kernel. So after you first flash a rom, nandroid with the stock kernel. Then after flashing a new kernel, you should restore the original nandroid with the stock kernel before you flash another kernel rather than just flashing...

Darn. I delete photos from my gnex. Is there a way to recover them? I tried recuva but because there's no external sd card, it does not recognize it.
