Did you give permissions to the App in Security Settings?

Get ApkShare from the Google playstore. (just search for apkshare by KN Inc.) Use it to backup the apps you want to save. Next, connect your phone to your pc and copy the apkshare folder to your hard drive.

Did you reboot your phone after uninstalling the App?

You don't need antivirus software on Android. Like Jefboyardee said, if you get your apps from trustworthy sources, you don't have to worry.
