How to Make Free Google Voice Calls on Android?

I also have Google Voice on my Transformer prime (which is a Tablet) and use it to make and receive phone calls via WI-Fi all the time.

Isthmus - How have you gotten this to work for FREE?

I have installed the Google Voice app but when I click the phone icon and tell it a # to call I get two options for "phone to call with" - either use my gmail or use my cell phone (which I don't want to do while I'm out of the country because there are charges). I DO have my gmail set up to my GV phone number but when I select that it pops up with "dialing your gmail phone" but nothing happens and my home phone never rings (that's my test #). When I select the other option which is my cell # it dials that # first and I have to ANSWER, and THEN it connects me with no problems. When I am out of the country I will have my cell phone actually turned off so I won't be able to answer it (nor do I want the charges).

I'm finding some of the droid apps mentioned online as a workaround are not compatible with the Transformer Prime. By the way, I will be making calls TO the US while I'm out of the country using a wifi connect.

This is getting highly frustrating! Help!!

If you have an iPhone, you could try using Talkatone to make calls over WiFi. It uses your Google Voice to work via WiFi. You can both make and receive calls via WiFi with Talkatone.
