NOTE 4 Cases

I have tried multiple cases for this phone and the best case for me is the Spigen. If you follow me you will see that I am a big fan of Spigen cases! There is a few reasons for that.

1. Size: The Spigen case for the Note 4 is very light and very small. Some cases you will notice make the phone so much bigger, and with a 5.7" phone not too many people would want it bigger. Spigen gives us the answer with the Spigen Slimarmor case.

2. Its a Standup case: (Pun intended) This case does have a flip out stand so you can enjoy all your movies, games, shows, Etc. on the phone standing up. No need to find something to prop it up.

3. Feel: The feel of this phone is very slick, and very smooth. It feels like a high end case without the high end price.

4. Speaking of Price: You can pick this up for only 29.99 on the Spigen website! www.Spigen.com

5. Looks: The look is just outstanding as well! And with 6 color choices, you can find the one the fits you best!

Keep in mind that Spigen has many other cases on their website for the Note 4 and any other phone that you may have.

Don't quote me, but I think the camera is covered by a piece of Gorilla glass, or something of the sort.

The case itself is massively complicated. Would take probably 5-10minutes to change the battery if you needed to.

And from what I've been reading it's not waterproof like the Sony Z3. The case just makes it water resistant. Dropping in the toilet is probably still bad. But if you were caught outside in the rain (or snow), shouldn't have any problems if you needed to use it.

Going to try to find user reviews later today, and then maybe I'll order it just to get a feel for it. Post a review if I do.

How would it compare to the Lifeproof cases if Lifeproof ever decided to tackle the Note 4?

No idea how they compare in the water proof or resistant department. I have the Lifeproof (LP) on the iPad Mini. I've had a few cases for it, and LP case is by far the best case I've had for working in worst case, heavy Snow and Rain. If they made a case for the Note 4 I'd buy one in a heart beat, even if it meant buying a second S Pen because you can't access the S Pen while its in the case.

That being said, I'm not sure how far into the water I'd take the LP case. I'd be ok with the camera end in the water to take pictures, but I doubt I'd completely submerge it. I played with it for a week before using it.

The LP case just clicks together. And the Love Mei case has 4 or 5 layers, then it's screwed together. (based on the various photos and odd video.

Seems like I've seen LP cases for phones with covers over ports and the like. They could accommodate the S-Pen if they want to...it's all about engineering.

I have a new Note 4 and I am looking for a case. Does anybody know if there is a case for the Note 4 that still allows NFC to work? Thanks Much.

I agree.. and have no doubts they could make one. I'm just a little concerned about the base of the phone. That would be two ports on the bottom. unless they made it one large one... On the Mini the one in the head phone jack is a soft cover, and the one over the "USB" port is a hard one.

the way the s pen sits, and the space to pull it out could prove difficult from a design point of view. make it a hard point as well? combination of both? But given they haven't touched the Note series at all, might be a higher risk device that they don't want to touch unfortunately.

There are many threads on cases and I have not heard any complaints of NFC not working with any of them myself. Does not mean they are not out there.
Good Luck!
Ron

I ordered an Otterbox defender, just a few hours ago. It should arrive at my door later today.
I don't mind the extra bulk. And this phone is too expensive to not have as much protection as possible, imo.

Hi, and welcome to Android Forums Kvn_VdH. Just a wild guess: you're Dutch :) I had one on my new Note4 and it was really overdoing it, tripling the size.

Hi Kaat. You're wild guess is almost correct. Not Dutch, but Belgian. :)
Yes, the Otterbox does add quite some bulk to the already rather large Note 4. Especially the thickness increases a lot.
But I have large hands, and I really don't mind the increased size. I just want to have it protected as good as possible.
I put the case on my device earlier today and I am very pleased with the way it feels in my hand.

I am trying to decide between an Urban Armour Gear case or a Trident Cyclops case for my precious Note 4. I spend way too many hours reading reviews and trying to decide...my head is spinning! I just want to feel sure that if my phone falls out of my purse onto pavement or something hard that it will be ok, and maybe handle a teeny bit of rain before I quickly cover it up. This is the first phone I have ever owned so I am a bit neurotic about it! LOL

Right now I have a spigen strong flex tpu case on mine. It is nice, great grip but lots of complaints of straching the metal bezel on Amazon reviews. So I just ordered the otterbox symmetry, and the speck candy shell case. Both have great reviews and have the proper holes for the verizon models

I am a new note 4 owner. need a case. not rough on devices.I have a wallet case for my nook HD & it worked ok, but did not last very long. I see ULAK WALLET CASE ON AMAZON for note 4. I must say I want purple & they have it. I have been convinced to get otterbox, commuter or symmetry. Any thoughts on the ULAK? Maybe I need more than 1 type of case?

I'm not a fan of wallet cases, as there's this flap that needs to be dealt with when taking photos. I don't care for things hanging off my phones. You don't seem to have a problem with it though, so I would recommend the genuine Samsung wallet case, but pay extra and get the one that allows wireless charging.

Wireless charging is a goal of mine but it's hard to find a good car in the style I like to fit over the larger cover required for wireless charging.

I just got the speck candyshell case. Slim rubbery silicone case with great grip. Good protection. This will probably be my everyday case . But I have the Otterbox symmetry coming soon in the mail

I have the Spigen "Tough Armor" as my thick case, and the Samsung official Case as my daily driver..

I've been a huge supporter of Otter Box manly because I sell my old phones to purchase a new one, so that was my 1st purchase after the phone its self but I would like the option to slim it up from time to time. I'm looking at a Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal case and just have one question to those that may have any Spigen cases with the same back piece as the Neo,

My otter box has a nice little ramp up to the heart rate sensor/camera lense, so finger placement is easy - I notice (only by pictures) that there is a ramp on the Neo but much smaller AND it does drop off a bit. I don't use the sensor much but to would like to retain the functionality of it.

Is this a problem with these cases or does it work ok?

TIA

basicaly the deal is this. i am actually a samsung rep myself who works at a samsung call center. i always recommneded samsung cases for phones becasue of the fact that any 3rd party (not oem) cases can either block the nfc chip on the phone. it can cause phones to overheat, and they can also block signal that you receive from your carrier. samsung cases and covers are made specifically for samsung phones of course so you should never run into an issue where its blocking signal, or the nfc chip, or causing the phone to overheat. so long story short. get a case directly through samsung. you can get one either off of samsung.com, a bestbuy store, or a carrier. store.

Does spigen make a Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal case with the correct hole placement for the microphone on Verizon note 4s yet? I'm so close to getting one bit don't like the idea of drilling
