Help Does Android automatically backup photos?

VMF800

Lurker
My son lost his Android and I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve his photos. Phone battery is probably dead. Is there anyplace that Android automatically saves pictures to on the web?

It can, but it depends on how he had it configured.

There are many "Cloud services" that can do an automatic backup of photos.
Whether that happens 'right now' or waits until a WiFi signal is available depends on how he set it up.

Have him log into his Google Account on the web with a PC, the open the Square box of dots Menu and look for Drive... if he had the auto saved to Google they should be there.

I have an app that works with PhotoBucket that does the same thing.
I have other file manager apps that can do that also.

If he is unaware of setting the phone up to do, it will not auto save to anywhere in the Cloud.
even if he had an extSDcard in the phone with all the photos saved on it, that is lost to him now.

Regular backups are a must in the "Real World".
Backup, backup, backup and then just to be safe, backup again somewhere else.

What version of android?

There are a lot of apps out there like dropbox, box.net., google photos. It depends if you have set it up before hand.
