That picture to me is more like first class vs economy class.

Trains in China have an official stand all the way class, or it's sometimes bring your own fishing stool class, apart from the white CRH bullet trains.

Other countries like India have sit on the roof or hang on the outside class

There's no sit on the roof or hang on the outside class in India. Both are prohibited, but in the rare diesel lines, people climb on the roof. Also, people hang outside general class when coach full.
