LG announced update to 9

Q2 ends in June right - so then I hope we get this in may - so we can get the fix in June. (I lightly kid.)

I don't expect a big change really - but maybe some more dark theme stuff.

It may not be prudent to hold your breath while waiting. After I read about the update in a few more online articles, I realized that the LG update was for Asia. It may be a few months later for the USA.

@joe71 does pixel 3 have 9.0 yet?
If so, what changed?
The Pixel 3 was released with 9.

There are a few visual changes (which LG may keep or may do their own thing), an optional gesture navigation instead of the traditional 3 buttons (though the back button remains), continuation of changes to the way permissions are controlled, deeper battery optimisation, and the clock changed sides (as part of accommodation for notches). Can't remember them all, as I've been using it now for longer than I used 8.

They have it in a few, such as messages and their phone and contacts apps, but it's not universal (and it's that slightly meh "dark" rather than actually black).

There are rumours of android 10 having a system-wide dark mode, but there have been similar rumours in earlier versions and they've always bottled it before the final cut. So I remain cautious.

I just wish that Google would implement a dark mode into their apps. They're supposed to be #1 at this, but they're dead last when it comes to dark mode.

Just got pie on my Note 8 and there is a night mode. You can even schedule it (sunset to sunrise) or have it on all the time.

Is it similar to the Comfort View on the LG V40 , or really a dark view?

The "night" view on the Note 8/Pie is a darker view (but not black - which would be cool).

Only a few Samsung apps are in night mode. It doesn't affect the other apps.

Too bad Samsung does not have the 3rd party theme makers that LG has.
