disappearing contact

my phone is 7 days old and I have had to reload the contacts twice be cause they disappeared. Any ideas?

Are you using the Google contacts app or the stock contacts app?

it is a lg g7 and the contact app that came with the phone. I am new to android-came from the dark side Blackberry Q10. Are there better/more stable apps?

If you have a Gmail account just go to the play store and install the Google contacts app.
It will save all of your contacts forever across any device you have

thanks and will do that. But the real question is why did they disappear 3 times in 6 days? Something is not right.
