S9 stopped syncing contacts to google

Hello, my phone contacts are not syncing with my gmail account. I keep getting a message that says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly. " It's been like this sync March. Please help thank you.

No it is not. I works just fine. Just no syncing. I turned sync on in the app and in google. Everything else syncs, except the contacts. Thanks
