Thousands of apps can track you...

MoodyBlues

Compassion is cool!
This is a little disconcerting. Apparently, thousands of apps--even those you've denied permission to--can track your phone.

"They use SDKs built by Chinese search giant Baidu and an analytics firm called Salmonads that could pass your data from one app to another (and to their servers) by storing it locally on your phone first."

Pretty nefarious, if you ask me.

Completely.

This whole surveillance capitalism model needs reigning in or shutting down. Of course that would mean that people would have to pay for apps, but so what? When the cost of something is hidden from you it's invariably higher than you think, so better to be explicit.
