GPS coordinates

Hi!
How can I get lat and long from my GPS location and write them into a file? I want to get location coordinates at 15-20 seconds interval.
Can you help me with some sources?

If you're hitting the API, there's a limit, but isn't getting the device's GPS location a local thing to the phone? I have an app that checks my device location every 10 seconds and I don't see any of those on my API account manager.

I'm not sure about local GPS quries I just saw in my news thread that google was limiting the number of times you can query GPS. The article said vaguely something about finding locations inside buildings.
