Would i be right in thinking that the news section is coming back to life? Slowly but surely.. ? If so what was with the less than ideal post from this morning suggesting downloading an APK from an untrusted source? (Since been removed)

Also, regarding the forums app which is no longer in development or updated since 2017 should the forums really be advertising and sending users to the Playstore to download it?

That news item was a glitch.
The mod team don't have any control over the news section. AFAIK it's an automatic system that publishes relevant news items. The erroneous news item of this morning shouldn't have been there. Don't know why it happened.

The forums app, well we'd have to ask the forum owner what the plans are for it. In terms of the forum pushing people to the Play Store to get it, again this is an issue for admin/site owner.

Thanks for raising the issues though.

Hopefully someone will be able to contact the owners and get it sorted. It would seem any user is now able to submit news tho..

No news here then? ;) Users are using the submit news link to post support on the forum and the spam continues..

Please report those spam new articles as you see them, mods can and will deal with them. I know the owner enabled this section in hopes that it helped promote user activity, and unfortunately that has not been the case thus far.
 
Will do @NightAngel79 - I'm pretty active on reporting spam here.

That's a great idea, but has this been made public so everyone knows they can submit news? For sure if it's to be a success there needs to be a authentication system enabled so that new news items do not just post immediately, this will stop users posting support threads through the news system and spam.

The spam is harder to crack down on automatically, apart from the systems already in place.

Hopefully users don't use this section for support, but if so mods will move to correct place. But it just hasn't been used much so far.
