YouTube starts up on its own when in lock mode

My phone has started randomly playing YouTube videos while in lock mode and in my pocket.

In the most inappropriate places, it will suddenly start blasting out music for something I neither want nor need. I uninstalled the YuoTube app and it still does it.

I'd appreciate some advice please?

Hmm. Are you logged in on a browser? Still odd it would do it in lock mode either way but while uninstalled might be explained by a log in.

Also, do you use Bixby? Just curious if u might be pressing the Bixby button while in your pocket. I believe in Bixby Home it will play the latest trending YouTube video. (Just a thought.)

Thanks @Sarah222

I had previously disabled the Bixby button, and I have just force stopped all the Bixby Apps. Let's see if that makes a difference :)

It's a shot in the dark but couldn't hurt. I disabled my button too, but I actually had to disable it again later on.

I'm trying to imagine what else could create that problem. YouTube Red maybe?

It could also be a bad app. Anything new installs recently? Anything installed from somewhere other than Play? Neither of those are meant to accuse you of anything, just trying to get the the source of the problem. :)

I dont have YouTube Red and happens to me lol

Yeah I've only done this a few times while locked though. And this when I was using a buggy app as I felt it was silly to have a button I didn't use. I was playing around with the app to reprogram the Bixby button and with that app you can set it to open just about anything. Fun at first, until you realize how much you hit the button by accident. Bye bye app!!! 😂😂(I'd rather have a dead button I guess.)

It's *so* annoying to have an issue like this and not know what the heck caused it. At least with mine, I knew.

I agree with the buggy app probability though. It's likely. Try running Gagdet Guardian to narrow down the likely suspects. It normally will tell you which ones have been downloaded via an APK, if you're unsure which are which.

Also, curious if you might have apps on your lockscreen? You'd still have to unlock to get to YouTube or a browser like Chrome if it was indeed on the screen. Depends on HOW you unlock (for instance if you use biometrics.) You *could* be accidentally unlocking and taking yourself right to YouTube if YouTube is set as a lockscreen shortcut.
