Here's stock ROM zips for the Verizon variant Orbic Wonder. One's a completely stock ROM and the other's pretty much just a normal stock ROM with some debloating here and there. Made using /system and /boot images pulled from my orbic, and repacked into a flashable ZIP with SuperR Kitchen. By having this we can flash back to, now we hopefully feel a lot safer trying out and experimenting with other ROMs/mods for this phone. Also you'll need an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery to flash this too.

WHAT WORKS:
  • Everything except what's listed below
WHAT DOESN'T WORK/BUGS:
  • Some people that tested it reported Google Play crashings and Package Installer not being able to work. Not sure if this will be the case for everyone, or how to fix it if it happens to you
  • Since our only TWRP image for this phone is a dirty port from the E4 Plus as of writing this post, I had to remove the "ro.getprop" safety checks from the updater-script to get it to work and flash on the phone. This means that this can theoretically be flashed on any device, which would obviously break your phone if you flashed it on a non-Wonder. Be careful!

THANKS TO:
  • Team Orbic that I'm working with on Telegram to turn this phone into something special, specifically @noidodroid for getting those image pulls for us when we didn't have root at first
  • XDA user SuperR for that bangin' kitchen he made, this let us turn system and boot images into a TWRP flashable zip

Deodex the whole ROM and make sure it boots.. then try the debloating part. If you're getting F/C's, then something wasn't done correctly (sorry)

SuperR has trouble deodexing it when I tried before, but that's why I have a non-debloated one too

There is also the option to choose whether or not to deodex frameworks.. that's probably where you were hanging up

At first when installing V3 I had crashes but I flashed the pico arm64 7.1 to the phone that seemed to have fixed it for me. Also if someone is having crash issues the Google play crash box will pop up during installation when you get to the checking for updates screen don't touch the Ok button if a Google play crash box appears just let it sit there until you get to the home screen. For some reason the checking for updates will stay there forever if you click ok on the Google play Crash box. If it takes to long just hold the power button until it restarts and repeat the process until you get it going. no other issues though.

Working on another version of the debloated ROM, gonna be deodexed and debloated, but also put in a custom boot animation zip and some custom ringtones/alarms. Just want to test if they'd actually work when injected into the system folder in the way I did. Look out for that soon

Because of the custom boot animation that says "Team Orbic", this ZIP is gonna be called team orbic rom (and will replace my old debloated one), so look out for that on the Mega repo

Ready when you are.

Uploaded to the repo in the appropriately named folder. After flashing that you should then immediately flash the disable-encryption zip. No one else has tested this yet to my knowledge so it might break stuff, be warned

I'm on it now , will report back to let you know.

Removed the Team Orbic branded one, apparently it got stuck at the boot animation. Not sure what caused it to hang but it's probably because I deodexed it

Want to post this as a sort of emergency post. Orbic just released an update for the Verizon variant that locks out the ability to run fastboot commands. If you've previously unlocked the bootloader it should stay unlocked, but if you haven't YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UNLOCK IT EVER AGAIN

Long story short, please DO NOT TAKE ANY MORE UPDATES FOR THIS PHONE

False alarm. Nothing was wrong. One of our beta testers was mistaken. Everything still works after the update. However I would stay on the 2018 NOV? patch for now until I can check into it further. Plan on buying 1-2 more Wonders for dev when i get the extra cache.

We do not need the kernel to port a rom for this device. I dont know why Jason was so stuck on getting the kernel when we could have had something from the Redmi 3S ported and up/running by now. .. I understand doing it the right way obviously but the whole time i held my tongue about just moving forward on a port.
