Auto-pause when headphones unplug

I do a lot of moving when I work, and am wearing headphones 90% of the workday. So, when I bend over and my headphones unplug just a hair, it's a pain to continually pull out my phone and restart the music.

Is there any way to disable this? Or a music app that doesn't utilize this feature? I don't even care if it's a poor app, I just want a shuffle all and play and if my headphones unplug I can plug them back in and keep listening.

Thanks guys

If your headphones keep accidentally unplugging, I would think it is an issue with your headphone or headphone jack. I would recommend that you find some headphones that won't accidentally unplug when you bend over or possibly have the headphone jack/phone repaired or replaced.

In any case, the default music player does not appear to allow you to change the auto unplug features. This is a context sensitive feature of the phone and music player. In general, when most people unplug their headphones, they usually intend to stop listening to the music. Not sure about other music players.

I'm rockin some Sennheiser 280 Pros .... won't be replacing them anytime soon. And it's not like it unplugs every time I bend over. But when you bend over 200 times a day, and your phone unplugs 10 of those times, that's enough to be annoying.

I'll try that Power Amp. Looks promising! Thanks!

Quick note: This is apparently for a higher end phone. my 600mhz processor is not able to handle this. Runs great until I lock my screen. May or not be processor related, but it skips horribly. Will try to find a workaround.

If you're using a headset with controls (even if only for call), pressing the call button for a little while controls pause/play.

What phone do you own? And are you rooted?

Some handsets incorporate a feature where the CPU frequency is lowered when the screen is locked to conserve battery. That could well be what's happening here.

Thank you! I had the opposite problem - I wanted the music to auto pause on disconnection so if my Bluetooth device disconnects or runs out of power, I'm not instantly blasting my music in my commuter train quiet car. PowerAmp has the pause/re-connect controls plus more stuff from my wish list like sleep timer. That's just the first glance.

Welcome to Android Forums, dacdroidfan!

I just wanted to give you a heads-up: you're not likely to hear back from the people in this 8-year-old thread. So don't feel ignored! :)
