It depends who your carrier is. Mine is Verizon. If you tapped on 'Check for new system updates' then you should either get the update or you get a message saying 'No new system update available'. If it isn't available, then your carrier hasn't released it yet. Each carrier releases their own updates. I thought that the update might have caused your problem if it screwed something up with your installed apps. I wasn't thinking it would fix things, although that is possible. The only thing that's left, that I can think of, is to do what Svim suggested. Just make sure your data connection works when you uninstall all your apps and you're not in the Safe Mode. If you still have the issue after you have removed all your apps, then something you installed is leaving something behind and screwing up your phone. If that's the case, then the only thing left, that I know, is do a factory reset before reinstalling your apps one at a time and checking your data issue after each new app. My logic: if your data connection is fine in safe mode, then it should be fine in normal mode without your installed apps. If you still have the problem after uninstalling all the apps you added, then there is still something lingering on your phone that is causing the problem that you can't remove. The only way to remove it is with a factory reset and I hate doing factory resets. I would never suggest doing one unless you tried everything else. Just make sure you don't have the problem after the reset. If you still have it, take your phone to where you bought it and let them fix it. (Be sure you back up everything that's important to you on your SD card. Good luck and let me know how your doing.
