Strange system app(spyware?)

voronclaw

Lurker
I've got LineageOS 14.1 installed on my phone. And I found strange system app: com.qualcomshutdownlistner. On the internet I found only com.qualcomshutdownlistEner. There is a letter missing in my version. Looks suspicious.
Also I noticed that Android System uses traffic every time I open any app, even if this app doesn't need internet connection. Not much(~500b).
I'd got LineageOS 15 installed(rooted). Then I suspected that spyware was installed on my system(I've got some reasons, that not related to my phone). So I replaced LineageOS 15 with LineageOS 14.1. I am 95% sure that i have paranoia, but I wanna be 100% sure. So I would be grateful if someone will explain the things I mentioned above.

You're just being paranoid.

Qualcomm is the maker of components in your phone like the processor. A shutdown listener is just a service to detect when the phone is being shut down or rebooted to make preparations for the shutdown or reboot. This allows the phone to shutdown or reboot gracefully which can perhaps entail deleting caches or shutting down antenna radios etc etc.

Also LineageOS does not come with any spyware. It's a very trustworthy rom.

It is odd, though, isn't it @GameTheory, that the files are named differently, yet so similarly?:

"com.qualcomshutdownlistner. On the internet I found only com.qualcomshutdownlistEner"
I don't find it strange since it's coming from LineageOS which is reputable and less likely to come with spyware than pre-installed android. It's probably just a version difference.

Now if he got the rom from a nefarious source, then the source should be in question and not LineageOS.
