Samsung Galaxy J7 totally screwed up with update for ver 7.1.1.

Earlier this week, I got a notification that an Android update was ready for my phone so I installed it.
Everything was fine that day, then I got a warning that the phone was charging at a slow rate. This has not been an issue before with the charger that came with the phone. Last night I noticed that the phone was down to 26% so I put it on charge and went to sleep.

This morning it was still at only 91%. I decided to try a reboot of the phone to see if something in the update needed another reboot to finish the install. This turned out to be a big mistake as, after the reboot, I got a warning that my phone memory was corrupted and would have to be reset, losing all my files. I rebooted the phone one more time, hoping that warning would not come back. But it did so I had to reset the phone.

I had to leave for about an hour earlier and the phone dropped from 91 to 74%. I plugged it back in when I got home and it is at 91% and has been holding there for about 3 hours now.

It has been a major hassle as, not all my apps were installed and I have forgotten the passwords to others. I have been all day getting my phone set up after this update, version 7.1.1, messed everything up on my phone.

Anyone else having similiar issues?

I will add one more thing. I liked the way the old version looked and worked. Thanks Android for totally screwing everthing up with my phone. Maybe I should just go back to a dependable flip phone.

Yes something similar has happened to me too. After I installed the new software update yesterday, everything looked fine except I was noticing my battery was draining pretty quickly. Even before if I was on let's say Twitter for a few minutes, the battery would stay at 100% then at most it would go 98% but now it goes like 100 to 89 within minutes just being on a social media app. It never went that down that much before the new software update yesterday. Even when it charges now it goes super slow unless I put it on Airplane mode to charge.

I hate to even explore the other things wrong as yet.. it's my mom's phone so i'm right now just trying to see if anyone else similar issues.. the only thing she mentioned so far are appearance changes.. the text colors are different as well as the home screen. I hate getting everything the way I want it for an update to go and change it on me.. then I look around for hours trying to figure out from everyone else what else I should change.

I know what you mean. I finally got the charge issue fixed by removing the battery and holding the power button down for 60 seconds. Back to normal charging now and showing 100% again.

Well I can confirm your experience now.. last night the phone was charging and it stopped at 91%.. she left it plugged in all night and in the morning it was still at 91%. I just like to figure things out so i'm wondering what they did that is causing this problem on more than one phone. Obviously we're not the only two people with this same problem. Not sure where to go to report bugs. At least I know to do what you did which i'll try later today after I back up everything.

I HATE HATE HATE this update! Worst ever! My phone's losing battery life that I never had a prob with and I'm constantly "killing" background apps hoping it will help (never had to do that before last week's stupid update). My phone too, is charging for hours and rarely gets to 100%. Seems to always stop at 91 or 94. Weird.
And the time on the lock screen?!! What the .. who wants time posted in a block form! Stupidest thing I've seen and I've tried to change it, can't find a way.

I can't stand the change to my contacts, looks strange, not at all user friendly, and although I don't block people often, I liked the fact that you could block calls and texts separately. Now it's all or nothing. There are times I've blocked a person's call, but could still have contact thru text if needed. Can't do that now!

Also, all of a sudden my typing seems to "lag" you type or swipe and nothing happens then all of a sudden all the words come rushing in. Irritating as hell. And it flat out refuses to accept some words, common normal words, but it'll fight you with the auto correct and add words nothing like what your wanting or literally typing as it decides to change it.

People are saying they can't hear me on the phone, and I'm sitting in a quiet room or the car. These changes make you want to do a factory reset. Its horrible! How can we get it back to the software of just a few wks ago!
I can't believe it's just me, these things weren't happening before I allowed the horrible update.

I did not even notice that I had the 7.1.1 update, but did notice that my J7 was only charging to 91%. Was wondering if my battery was getting weak because I had an S3 for 4 years that never had charging issues. After removing battery and holding power button without battery, inserting battery and powering up, the J7 showed 100%.

No issues with any apps that I know of.

IVE TRIED SEVERAL THINGS TO GET KEIS BACK, THERE'S ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER THAT'S A FAIL. THIS SO SUCKS. I LOVED MY J7, NOW I'M READY TO THROW IT AGAINST THE WALL IN A MILLION PIECES FOR THE SATISFACTION OF BUYING A NEWER MORE EXPENSIVE HEADACHE. THAT'S WHAT THEY DO...JUST SO YOU'LL SPEND MORE MONEY. IT'S A TRICK AND TRAP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANYBODY FOUND A SOLUTION. THANKS PEEPS.

Did you try it this way?

My Samsung J7 Refine will not let you remove the back or the battery, so this didnt work for me. It's so frustrating because I have to reboot about 20 times a day to get phone calls texts or even connect to internet. Hotspot wont connect to my wireless printer and it all worked before this stupid update n battery is run down instantly.

I wish I could do this, but my J7 Refine battery does not remove...this update is killing me and my phone. Frustrating!!
