While trying to take a screenshot, my setting went crazy. Now there is a square and you press the letter inside the square twice to get it to type. Everything you do has to have that square around it. Also, now the voice is on and I need it off. Please help

Hi there, rmears1152, and welcome to Android Forums!

This is a guess--the first thing that popped into my head--it sounds like some 'accessibility' settings accidentally got switched on.

Go into your System Settings and find its Accessibility options. Go through those and turn off anything you don't want.

If that's not it, try rebooting your phone.

Let us know what happens!

It would help if you specified which Tab A you have (the 2015 model came with Lollipop, the 2019 model has Pie), and how you did the screenshot (different devices have different ways -- i.e. palm swipe across the screen, or pressing the Power and Volume Down buttons, or pressing the Power and Home buttons, etc. Knowing how you did the screen shot that might reveal what was inadvertently enabled as an unwanted after-effect.

I tried doing what you advised, and it worked. I want to thank you for all your help. I had worried with this all weekend and I was at my wits end. Again, thanks for helping me when I didn't know where to go nest.
