Android 10 Update

On past experience Samsung will release it in the month or three following the launch of the S11. They pretty much always release the new OS version with the new S series, then roll it out to others after that.

It's the way it is. Samsung will never be fast for OS updates because they modify it heavily. But I suspect myself that there's an element of marketing strategy in the timing. Consider these two scenarios:
1) New phone comes with new OS version, older models are still on older.
2) Older phones get the new OS a few weeks before the new model is released.
The second one refreshes the older phones shortly before the new phone is released, and removes one element of "newest and best" from the new model. So I can see why they might think that scenario 1 is the better plan, and to be fair to them they are not the only ones to do this.

It wouldn't matter if they could release the update 4-6 months before the new phone comes out, but because they modify the OS so heavily that's not going to happen.

From what I've read they are in Alpha testing stage with Android 10 with stable releases expected in January 2020. However you can expect beta releases before this, around November time. You will need an active Samsung account and have the Samsung Members app setup on your phone to sign up to the beta testing. (if that's your thing) Otherwise just wait for a stable release.

You may have to wait longer for ATT to do their bits if you have a branded phone.

Where can i sign up for beta testing?

You can't yet, as the testing is apparently only at Alpha stage. If you setup the Samsung Members app and keep checking in there every week they release notices related to your phone. This is where you will eventually sign up for the beta testing, after that the updates come thru via the settings page and checking for updates.

Hey @Cyberdev keep a close eye out on the Samsung Members app from today as the latest news is the beta program is due to be announced by the end of the month for distribution in October to compatible devices.

Thanks for letting me know

That's ok. Hope it happens as I'd like some beta goodness too, along with UI 2.0. :D Do bear in mind your banking apps may stop working on beta software, for sure finger print login will be disabled until you are back on an official release.
