Your phone has been rooted. Rooted phones cannot receive system updates.

Did you root your phone? Or did you buy it from someone that may have rooted it?

Bought it brand new on amazon.

The seller on Amazon sold you a used or refurbished phone that was at some point rooted. Brand new phones do "not" come rooted.

Well, I tried unrooting it, now its in a endless loop during start up.

Filing a complaint with Amazon--if the seller refuses to give you a full refund.

You were sold merchandise that was falsely advertised. Amazon frowns on that, big time.

Contact the seller. Don't accept a replacement--someone shady enough to not only pass off a used phone as new, but a rooted phone, shouldn't be trusted. Tell him it's a full refund or you're going to Amazon. And then do it, if necessary.

Oh--be sure to leave seller feedback so others won't get taken...if Amazon allows him to continue selling, of course.
