MP3 files disappear from expansion card

I created a directory om my 256gb expansion card named /Music and I copied a few hundred directories with mp3 files in them. If I examine the directories they show how many files in them. After a period of time (hours) I re-examine and the directories show 0 files. If I tap it sometimes they are empty but some are not. When I tap it my music player says can't find file.

If it was a Samsung card look for the rainbow effect on the packages foil seal. If you don't see the rainbow effect it's a renamed lower storage limit card. I learned that from experience. The whole sorrid affair is posted here somewhere. I call it my 'cautionary tale' thread.

Look online for a FREE app called “H2testw” its a memory card tester. It will verify the sectors on the card and will let you know its true capacity.

What music player app are you using?
When you open the app are you sure that it's looking at your microSD card (it might named 'external' or 'portable')? A lot of media player apps look only in default folders residing in internal storage so it's often a matter of going into the settings menu of the app so it will also automatically detect files in other locations, as in your case that /Music folder you created in your microSD card.

Ahhh, so you're using the file manager app to locate and then play your music files. If you can see those mp3 files some of the time but not always that's probably because you're looking at directories in the internal storage media, not your microSD card. You might find the 'My Files' app more useful if you go into its Settings menu and tweak the options accordingly (if using it primarily to find your mp3 library on your card).
