Help Earphone jack problem

Dragondre

Lurker
My earphone jack works but a piece of it got broken inside somehow so I either have to hold my earphones in the whole time or superglue it to whatever phone case I'm currently using which ruins the case and the earphones. I'm not sure what else to do but I cant afford a new phone.

I'd definitely trade it for an older phone if I had too though.

I can offer a few options

1. send it in for repair.

2. buy a rechargeable blue tooth headset that is compatible with your phone.

female to male headphone jack adapter and super glue not an option I would even consider. I think a good blue tooth headset is the best option.

The iFixit site has a teardown that indicates the headphone jack is its own replaceable module:

(see step 11). Given that a lot of headphone jacks are soldered in place to the motherboard, if you take your phone to a service shop at least it shouldn't be a real costly affair (relatively).

Or last resort is to go with Bluetooth earbuds.
