memory card

Hi, I recently purchased an Idol 3, 5.5 phone. I'm having trouble with the scan disk memory card. Sometimes it recognizes the card and sometimes it says card is corrupted.
I would like to replace the card, but not sure what the correct replacement card is called. (ie what brand, specifications, type, etc).
Thanks,

My q was on what to do if it frequently states corrupt, not fake.

Unfortunately if it is corrupt you'll have to format it which will erase everything on the card and does not guarantee that it will fix the sd card.

Attach it to your computer and format it to Fat32. I can't recommend a program to do this because I don't use Windows.

If all fails, then you can purchase a new card like the following one which is good and well priced.

Just what brand and how old is this microSD card that you're having a problem with?
If it's a pretty recent card, it might just be some glitchy, one-off problem. Try reformatting the card in your Alcatel phone, that way you can be sure it's base format is for your phone. When you do something like this remotely on computer it's going to be optimized to work with that computer's operating system and not necessarily with your phone's Android operating system.
If the card is an older one though, you might just want to buy something new anyway. It's your data that's involved so no need to take unnecessary risks. Here's a good article on buying a new card, even if you don't want to buy their recommended cards, there's a lot of good info on what to look for so it allows you to make a good, informed decision on getting something that fits your particular needs, not what someone else needs.
