How Cloud Computing helps you in Education?

Google Docs is useful to share lesson materials and collaborate amongst a teachers' group. That's basically my limit of cloud computing. Pretty much anything else, like my own documents and materials, is do it all locally on the laptop.

I make no use of it in my undergraduate or postgraduate teaching.

It's used extensively in my research, where we refer to it as the "grid" rather than a cloud. I also use cloud storage, but for reasons of data security do not use any of the commercial cloud providers (some of my colleagues use them for sharing documents, but I don't even do that).

And of course you must make damned sure that you never sync any directory containing personal information with such a service or you will have committed a major data protection breach.
