Will s10 snapdragon variant work in india?

I am planning to buy a s10 snapdragon version, since the exynos version is garbage in terms of efficiency and gpu performance
I am concerned whether will it work with indian sim or not?
Can anybody shed some light on it?

Yes, it should work with carriers in India. However, the Snapdragon S10 is only distributed in China, Japan and the US. So you'll be buying a grey import. Which means Samsung India won't honour the warranty on it. And if it's a China variant, it won't have Google Mobile Services on it, e.g. no Play Store. AFAIK a lot of tech products in India do come in from China.

Where are you planning on buying your Snapdragon S10 from, and what region variant is it?

Thank you for your reply
The site mentions that the device is unlocked, but i have heard some people saying these devices have regional locks and to unlock it the regional sim needs to be used for some time and also you won't get updates

It's true, Samsung region locks their phones for initial activation. What it basically means, a local SIM for the region or country it was intended for is inserted, and a >5 minute phone call is made with it. However Samsung will NOT honour warranty on any grey imports and unofficial sales. So if there's any problems that requires service, it's upto the "site" who sold the it to you.

I assume it will be a US variant, rather than China or Japan. But if is a China variant, be aware there's no Google on those, and it will be pre-loaded with China only services.

It's certainly true that Samsung have a "region lock", so it needs to be used briefly with a SIM from that region. I'm sure a Web search will provide details.

One UK-based distributor I know has a note on their website telling non-EU customers that if they want a European model they'll have to open the box to work round the region lock (of course a UK phone will be Exynos, so not what you want). So if you do import one I would check the status of the region lock with the seller first.

As for updates, not a Samsung expert. A carrier-branded phone may well have that problem, not sure about one that was originally sold as unlocked (on general there would be no problems but I'm unsure whether this region business makes a difference).

Officially the snapdragon 855 won't be available in India, you could try any of these stapes though if you really want snapdragon 855
  1. Buy the Snapdragon 855 varient of S10 from Alibaba/baggood/amazon or any third party retailers. You will have to wait for long and pay extra for shipping and may or may not have to pay customs
  2. If you have any friends or relatives in US or Canada or even UAE ask them to buy the phone and send it to you or ask them to bring it with them.

I have someone in UAE however the thing i am worried about is region sim lock of samsung, exypansys.ae mentions the device is unlocked but there's no way to find out if its region unlocked or not
