Phone dims and brightens

Hello all, just got the phone been using it less than two weeks the battery life sucks, also the phone is dimming way faster than it should, I set my timer to 60 seconds. Should I dump this phone or what?

Have you tried actually timing the screen off period? This isn't something subjective, it's something you can measure easily, so you can say for sure whether it does or does not turn off early.

Of course it will dim a few seconds before it turns off, all android phones do that.

As for battery life, we'll need more quantiative information to say anything useful. Remember that this phone hasn't been manufactured for more than a year, and if you aren't the first owner it could have had 2 years' use before you got it (and you cannot know how the battery may have been abused by a previous owner).

hi - is it the auto brightness that is causing this? ....also when i got my used pix2 the battery was rubbish! .. but after some careful charging for a week - it is now running well - get easily 24hrs out of it

Hello, I'm not sure about auto brightness, is that in settings?
