help!!!! "USED COM.SAMSUNG.ANDROID.MESSAGING"

help someone,

my girlfriend and I were looking at her phone, (help trust again, etc.) I was calling her out because it said

"used com.samsung.android.messaging" at 959am but she says her phone was at her desk and she wasn't near it, she was adamant and upset I thought otherwise.

I understand this data can log just opening the android messenger text app. doesn't have to apply to actually sending / receiving texts. She swore that she hadn't even touched her phone and didn't understand what issue was.

now there was a phone call at 959am, that came across "used com.samsung.adroid.incallui" I know that means incoming call. but that should be totally different application "incallui" vs. "messaging" I thought. the timing was uncanny but just thought "messaging" was only text in phone app., can "messaging run data itself, update, etc. by phone? seems inaccurate. we also texted at 755 am, but it didn't pop up "messaging" in google activity until 806am... someone help please, it's not helping us trust one another again.

Did she answer the call? Some carriers send a text message to notify of voicemail or missed calls, so it could be that an unanswered call would also produce a message.

she did not answer the call, the caller (kia car dealer) left a VoiceMail. her carrier is AT&T, she adamantly swears up and down she wasn't near her phone nor accessed messenger app. I want to believe her, but I am a smart man and need valid truths and reasoning to believe. I tested by calling her phone leaving VM at 815pm, to see if it would trigger "incallui" and "messenger" data log. it did hit "incallui" log, and there was a "messenger" log but it was 5 minutes before, at 810pm, so maybe it does, times off? but that didn't make much sense since, the 959am "incallui" log and 959am "messenger" log in question, did match. frustrating.

Welcome to Android Forums, marine0901!

I hope this doesn't offend you, but if you're dissecting operating system functions in an attempt at verifying your girlfriend's activity, you have much bigger problems than why a system call occurred at a given time. :)

Linux (including Android) is an elegant, efficient OS that functions gracefully for the user by doing things in the background all the time. Trying to match up every system call with a user-invoked activity is a waste of time.

If you're this lacking in trust with your girlfriend, maybe you're not right for each other. If her word isn't good enough for you, then she's probably a lying, cheating, deceitful monster, right? You'd be better off without her. :o Or, if she's actually a good person, back off--before she leaves you.
