How to move contacts from phone account to gmail account

Hello,

Can someone, please, tell me ho to
1. move (not copy) contacts from the device's "phone account" to the the device's "gmail account"?
2. set the device to save contacts, by default, in the gmail account instead of the phone account.

Thank you in advance to who will kindly share time/expertise.

On most phones saving to the Google account is the default. Look in the Contacts app's settings (this is usually the manufacturer's app, so varies between devices).

The simplest way of moving them all is probably to export all of the phone contacts (which will save them as a vcard file, .vcf), delete the contacts from the app and then import them from the vcard file, telling the app to import them as Google contacts. You might even be able to import the vcards to Gmail using a computer and check the phone book is complete there before deleting from the phone (I rarely use Gmail from a browser, but every contact management tool can read vcard so I'll be disappointed in them if there isn't a way).
