When I put the phone near my face w/o using speakerphone the mute button turns on. Can I disable the mute button? Ty.

Activate your selective hearing.
That all depends on the dialer screen. You may inadvertently be touching the mute but I know of no way to disable it.

You are exactly right thank you, I am hitting the mute button inadvertently. I tried a couple of different dialers after you mentioned it but after dialing it switches to the phone screen which is where my problem is.
