Which websites are safe to download apk?

recently, there are some problems with my google play, I could not download some apps that i want. It always has a notification that your device is not compatible so my friend suggested downloading apk but my device warned that my device can be attacked by virus if I download from unknown sources. So I wonder which web is safe for me to download?

apkpure claim that every app they host has been signature verified.

apkmirror is run by the people behind the androidpolice news site, only host free apps directly from the play store, no cracked apps or unverified downloads. I've never heard of any problems from them.

aptoide claim that part of their site contains verified safe apps, but they also allow unverified uploads and have often hosted pirated apps and malware. I personally do not trust them at all.

so what u mean is if users want to download some apps outside play store, they also can't use apkmirror because it only hosts free apps directly from the play store, right? ( i just take example )

I've just remembered was posted a few months ago.

I found an APK on APKmirror, and it installed and the app worked, but another problem, a phishing tool was attached to the app

Presumably the Android Police were on top of the case, and they arrested those concerned, as well as removing the Barclays banking app with phishing tool attached from APKmirror.

I think when it comes to apps, especially financial apps, only install from their official sources.
