Apps will not Auto Update

My Huawei P 10 Plus is connected to my home network. The Internet and other features work just fine. Email - no problems.

The only issue is that the apps will not update from Play Store. Either on auto, or on manual. Even if I try to install a new app, it simply will not download it. Then, after a couple of days, when I look at my phone, all the apps have been updated.

So, why this very very lengthy delay? I have tried to clean the cache and everything. Do I need to factory reset and start again? But my worry is, if I do that, and then it does not download anything from Play Store, I'll be in real trouble.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My guess is that you have apps that are waiting to be automatically updated, and they are put into the que before whatever app you are trying to download. So it is waiting for the other apps to update before it downloads anything else. Turning off auto update should fix this.

Also, does it give you an error message? If so what does it say?

No error messages. I turned off auto-update and tried to update just one app manually. Three hours have passed. No luck yet.

Not sure what would cause this. You could try to clear out the Play Store's cache and restart the phone. If it still happens check how much available space you have, or maybe something is running is the background taking up all your RAM?

If you are still having trouble then maybe its not the phone. Try downloading the same app on another device, and take it from there.

Thanks for your time. I have tried all that you have suggested above.

In a last-ditch effort, I did factory reset the phone and started with a clean slate. It seems to have sorted the problem out and I can now download from Playstore as normal.

Thanks again and best regards.

I am having the same issue on my p10 plus. All it does is say downloading but nothing further. It has been going on for the past 5 days now. There is plenty storage memory and RAM. I have heard that doing factory reset only resolves the problem temporarily.
