The Galaxy S7 Active (the forum you posted in) was released 3 years ago but there might still be some new ones.
Phone numbers are reused so it's common to get calls from people looking for who had the number last. The phone and number are not perminately tied to each other.

There are only so many 10 digit numbers @Zeplin1952. I'm not sure how many, but I think the US has used most of them.
What network are you on? On most networks the number is associated to the SIM rather than the handset, so getting such calls would indicate that the carrier had reused the number (associated an unused number to a new SIM) rather than telling you anything about the handset.
