Date stamp photos?

Sorry for bein the only one on the planet that doesn't know, but is there anyway to date stamp pics taken with the stock camera app? I hate to download 3rd party apps, but if I must, will my camera still have the 13mp resolution? Any suggestions for a 3rd party app if needed? TIA

BTW, I did a search before posting. All the threads date back around 2010. Sure things have changed since then.

You should find that your photos are date stamped. If you open a pic in your stock viewer, there should be an option to view file details. Using the Gallery app it's the three dots top right to access the available options. If you are interested in having that information displayed when viewing thumbnails it might require a different viewer app.

OK, apparently the date is recorded, but I'm trying to get it to appear on the pic like the sig. Can't find any gallery apps that do this, any suggestions?

My use of gallery apps is mostly limited to the stock app. There may be an app that automatically superimposes the date/time but I'm unaware of it. You can add that information using the stock app editor. When viewing a pic, choose the pencil icon at the bottom of the screen, then choose the the square icon. You will find a few date/time bubbles that can be added to your pic. Save your changes on exit. I wish I had something auto to offer.
