Best way to send text message to larger group of people

Hi,

I recently purchased a Pixel Phone (on T-Mobile), and am trying to send a text to approx. 30 people. I used to be able to send to this same group on my old phone using the "GroupText" app and Textra. Now I'm trying to use the "GroupText" app with Handcent Next SMS on my new phone, but it is not sending out any texts. I don't know if it's the new phone, or Textra vs. Handcent.

Does someone have a better way of sending occasional text to a group of < 50 people? I really appreciate it- thanks!

Just use the stock app that came on your phone. It's not that hard, I do it from time to time. Just select multiple contacts to send the message to.

Thanks. However as best as I can tell, I can send to a max group size of 10 people? I need to be able to send to 30+ individuals...

In the Google Messenger settings one of the options for group messages is to send as single SMS messages or group MMS messages. Toggle the setting to SMS and compose your text with desired members, no need for a second app. Settings > Advanced > Group Messaging.

This only works if you are willing to click all 30 names each time you send out a text! Ridiculous! How can we create a group we can just select? I've tried in Textra, and it uses groups created in your address book, but it sends out to all 4 numbers a person has! How can we configure it to send out to only a selected phone number for each group member?

When I add multiple contacts to a message I am given the option of creating a group so I don't have to select each member again.

Create a group in the Contacts app. Try it that way and send a message to the group. I'm too lazy to click on multiple names to send a group text.
