Apps Error type 3 (somebody please help)

I've been dealing with this simple issue for quite literally six hours. My app was working perfectly fine before but now all of a sudden I'm getting a "Error type 3... Error while launching activity" error. I've rebuilt, cleaned, invalidated, uninstalled and I still haven't been able to get rid of this error. This error occurs for any project I run through my emulator, so its not just pertaining to this project. I'm a beginner so sorry if this is a dumb post but it's just infuriating me at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

you are not dumb , it's a nightmare. It happens out of the blue and so far I have to create another project and copy all the stuff across. Copying a backup in place makes no difference , what was working no longer works.

Next thing I would probably try is reinstalling Android Studio.

Can you share the manifest and an activity that's failing? If it's happening on everything that might not be helpful but you never know.
