Need Help Using Custom Notification Files

I had my Go SMS Pro notifications set up using my own sound files I'd downloaded onto my Galaxy S9. I had an unrelated issue which caused me to have to wipe my phone to factory. I've downloaded all my music and ringtone sound files which I've ALWAYS used as Go SMS Pro notification sounds (I've had Go SMS Pro for years on several devices) but I cannot find some of the sound files available in the limited selection I can access from Go SMS Pro. Does anyone know 1) Where are the files stored which Go SMS Pro accesses and 2) How I can transfer my old ringtone/notification files to that file location? Thank you! This sounds silly but it really is important to me as these old ringtones are familiar to me and help me to know when to take immediate action and when I can finish a piece of business before I get back to whoever contacted me.

In general you put ringtones in the Ringtones folder and notifications in the Notifications folder, both in the phone's internal storage. I don't use Go SMS, but any app should be able to find sounds there as those are the standard locations (every app on my phone that allows custom notifications can use the files I put in these folders).

If that doesn't work then personally I'd change message app: I would not use an app that expected me to do something non-standard just for it. But it really should work.
