Help Google Voice Typing not accurate when traveling to other countries

I use voice typing instead of the the onscreen keyboard for most data entry, especially texts and it works very well when I am in the United States. I travel often for work and as soon as I get to another country, voice to text becomes so inaccurate that it isn't usable. It writes completely incorrect words, usually still English words, but not at all what I meant to write. Nearly half of the words are incorrectly dictated. This has happened in countries like India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and more. I have checked the settings over and over and can't figure out why. I am using the Gboard keyboard and under "Google voice typing" the language is set to English (US) and I have the US English offline speech pack downloaded. This has been happening since I bought the phone two years ago. Any ideas?

All voice recognition takes place on the server side, so I would think that local servers would be optimized for language and accent. It could also be that your data connections aren't quite as good when travelling.

This issue still persists to this day somehow. Does anyone have a solution to this?
