WPS Office Ver 16.3.3 on Android 10

I have created files on tablet in created folders.

But when I edit created file and then save file in created folder created file is not updated.

Files are saved in long Folder tree of many levels.

This has only happened recently. In the past file saved has been to original created file.

Why has this changed?

I don't use WPS myself, mainly for privacy reasons, however I'd guess KIngsoft in China made a change and the WPS app got updated. Maybe try using an older version from APKmirror.

I only know windows ten has wps, not familiar with the app itself.

Windows 10 doesn't actually come with WPS of course. However WPS is pretty much standard on Windows PCs here in China, and it's adware. All our school PCs have WPS, but fortunately they all have MS Office installed as well.
I downloaded it over a year ago.. I still cannot tell you on what other formats do, I only do blank documents :)

I just actually verified the issue that you said.

In my WPS Office, there is no situation where the .docx file is not updated but saved to another folder.

You may indeed see two .docx with the same name in the ‘Recently Files’ list of WPS Office. However, the former is just a cache file, in the com.android.fileexplorer.myprovider sub-folder. Moreover, the contents of the two are exactly the same.

Btw, my WPS Office is the latest v13.28.0 on Android 12. Just for your reference.

I ’m in a similar situation and use ’save as’ to show the place on my storage where to save it. In the meanwhile I’m looking for an other app that is as good.
