I would guess Kansas to be on short side of Mandarin or Cantonese speaking people. I would have thought my state was primarily English speaking, Spanish speaking second, and BS a close third.
If I was to guess a third language for Kansas it would have been German or Swedish. My wife's ancestors all settled in the same area of Kansas and had migrated from Bohemia. They were German speaking. The entire community was filled with like immigrants during early Kansas Statehood. I know of another community that was primarily Swedish immigrants and the town to this day considers itself Little Sweden USA.
