I wonder if they are clearing the decks to make way for Android 14, One UI 6.0?

(With my track record, that should jinx it quite nicely 🤔 )

I did consider that. I'd read it was supposed to come out in November, but I've enough project management experience to never put faith in schedules, especially published ones.
