No Root Firewall

My friend has been using No Root Firewall. One day weather came on by itself and there were ads with it. It turns out that the firewall wasn't even on but it hadn't been switched off and what good is it if that's going to happen? I would like to know before I get it.

Yes, it's that one. I don't know about the battery thing. How do we check?

I'd start by looking at Settings > Apps > No Root Firewall and seeing whether there is a battery setting in there. If not, try searching the settings.

I'm being imprecise because settings change with both android version and manufacturer, so not knowing what phone we are talking about means it's impossible to say where the setting will be (e.g. I'm using a Galaxy s21, and Samsung are about the worst of the lot for rearranging the Settings in their own way).
