Fatalities 2025

Randy Boone, probably best known for his long run on the TV show "The Virginian," died last Thursday at 83. His widow declined to give any other details.

RIP, Mr. Boone, with thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones.

Mark Volman, co-founder of the Turtles and Flo & Eddie, has died at 78 after a short illness. Back in the day I enjoyed the Turtles' music.

RIP, Mr. Volman, and thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones.

I still listen to the Turtles. I have a playlist that I stream to my buds and my truck that has four Turtles tunes. Elenore, Eve Of Destruction, Happy Together, and She'd Rather Be With Me. I gravitate to songs from the sixties. Considering the play list is less than 3K tunes, it speaks well for the Turtles to make the list four times. RIP Mark Volman and thank you for the music that has entertained me for nearly sixty years.

Assanated in Utah, this afternoon.
I hadn't heard of him until his assassination, and I grieve for his family, friends and colleagues.

I really don't understand the mentality of killing someone because you disagree with their politics or viewpoint; to me, the person who thinks that such a murder is justifiable is far more dangerous.

RIP, Mr. Kirk.

This Saturday evening, our county veterans organizations will host our annual Patriot Day Ceremony to honor first responders. I'm humbled to have be asked to serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event. It's not a responsibility I take lightly: in fact, I have already signed on for next year's ceremony, when we will observe the 25th anniversary of the day when a few deranged men changed the world forever.

I absolutely hate posting this.

Butch and Sundance are together again: Robert Redford has joined Paul Newman in the afterlife. He was 89.

So very, very much could be said, and certainly will be in the days to come. RIP, Mr. Redford, and thank you so much for sharing your talents for so long. You leave behind an amazing legacy of storytelling. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones.
